I have not posted to this blog in several months and decided that I needed to update some book information. Waiting for Susan Elizabeth Phillips' new book "Natural Born Charmer" to come out on Tuesday. It is the latest in the series on the Chicago Stars football team. This seems to have an interesting tie in to this weekends Super Bowl Game with the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts (who I want to win). She really has and interesing way of pulling you into the book and making you feel that you are a part of the story.

News from a TV junkie
I haven't got a chance to write for awhile. I have read several books over the last several weeks. Would highly recommend the new Catherine Coulter book "Born to be Wild". It's about a soap opera actress, named Mary Lisa who has a stalker. The stalker tried to run her down with a car and she is photographed by a photographer who she has a restraining order against. Mary Lisa is from a small town and the local chief of police comes down to help.
I have also been watching all the reality shows I'm addicted to such as Amazing Race, Survivor, Project Runway, America's Next Top Model and Dancing with the Stars. All have some interesting characters and I will watch every episode. I also got hooked on Prison Break last year and can't wait to see what happens next.

Suzanne Brockmann
I just finished "Into the Storm" and would highly recommend this book. Troubleshooters and Seal Team 16 decide to conduct a joint training session in New Hamphire during the worst winter storm and things really start to go bad for one of the members. Tracy is to leave the location where she is being held and meet up with the rescue team, but things go wrong when the seals are called up. They determine that Tracy is missing and Jenk and Izzy (who is unauthorized to leave) go back to help find her. There was also a murder at the local pharmacy and all the drugs where taken. They determine that a serial killer is in the area when a body is found in a quarry wearing the jacket that Tracy had on with a homing chip in the coat. With all that happens between Jenk and Lindsey you know that they will get together in the end. It also appears that her next book may be about Decker and Sophia.
I also started "Ladies Man" which has finally been issued to mass purchase. I was at a local bookstore and they had the book out early. This book was to be a strict on sale date of August 29th but I purchased it on August 24th.
Can't wait until this weekend when I go back to West Virginia for a family reunion and get to watch on local TV the WVU - Marshall game. GO MOUNTAINEERS!!!

The beauty of rural West Virginia

The beauty of rural West Virginia. Can't wait to go back for our family reunion and also to see WVU beat Marshall. Have a very postitive outlook on how the team will do this year. The worst part of the reunion is how much weight that I will gain because of all the good food. Also since there are many birthdays around the time of the reunion we always celebrate. There will be roughly 40 people but we will have food for 140. My cousins will set around and tell weird stories about oil wells and such. My one cousin will bring all of his genealogy work to show again! We just found out that my aunt who just turned 99 will be there from Colorado. There are 9 of the 10 kids still living, and they ranch from age 99 to 78.

Sandra Brown part II
Just finished "Chill Factor" and really enjoyed the book. There are lots of plot twists concerning a serial killer. As the book starts who find out that 5 women have gone missing from a small North Carolina town. Sandra keeps you guessing until the very end who is the killer and how Tierney fits into the story. I would highly recommend this book.
Just started the new book by Suzanne Brockmann entitled "Into the Storm" which is the next in her Troubleshooters series. This is a branch of her Navy Seals series. Will review when I'm finished.
Watched Big Brother last night and can't believe how everyone is just telling Chill Town run everything. Waiting to see who Boogie nominates for the next elimination.
Fall is trying to start in the midwest or at least the trees are starting to drop a lot of leaves. Have already picked up leaves off the yard 3 times. We have way to many trees in our yard when it comes to this time of the year and all the leaves that have to be picked up.
Can't wait for college football to start, GO MOUNTAINEERS! Will get to see several of the games on ESPN this year and hopefully the other games will be picked up.

Sandra Brown books
I just finished a Sandra Brown book titled "Demon Rumm" which is an older Loveswept that has been reissued. I thought that reading an older book and then reading a newer book it would be interesting on how the author has changed over the years. "Demon Rumm" was mostly just a straight romance with fair character development but do to the format of the Loveswept line and the size limit it's hard to really do justice to indepth character development. I'm now going to read "Chill Factor" her newest paperback book. Will make a new posting after I've finished with the comparsion.
Also wanted to make a reality tv update. Congrats to Benji on "So You Think You Can Dance", he was a versitile dancer and had a great presence on stage. He was my favorite from week one. Also on last nights "Project Runway" was shocked when Allison was let go and not Vincent. Vincent's dress was unwearable for the model, also what is going on with Laura? She has these dresses that are cut way to low and what little bust line she has almost fell out last night. She is also getting a weird attitude.

Just finished "Trouble in High Heels" and loved the book. Brandi and Roberto and fun characters. Brandi's revenge against Alan was great and when Roberto hit him it was priceless. Can't wait for her next book. Now will have to determine which book to read next.
I am also trying to keep up with all my favorite reality shows. I will admit I'm a reality TV nut. My fav is Amazing Race but can't wait to see what happens on Big Brother this week. Also hoping Benji wins on So You Think You Can Dance.
